Principal Message

You may wish to review our presentation which we showed the students and staff on Wednesday which unpacks the story of the icons

The story of our icons tells the story of what we are about which is always an inspiration to me.

As I finish my time here at Kildare it has been a time for significant reflection and gratitude as explained to staff, students and guests after mass on Wednesday. The community of Kildare and I have been fortunate to have the steadfast support of Bishop Mark, Dr Andrew Watson and the CEDWW team, the Presentation Sisters, our local leaders in Council and at State and Federally- Dallas Tout, Joe McGirr and Michael McCormack. Their support has been and is always crucial to the success of the college and I thank them for that. In doing that I also want to place on the record for their profound support to me personally and professionally.

Coming into the college in 2021 as Principal after a turbulent period was challenging and the issues we faced were many and varied. We have navigated our way through those challenges as staff and leadership most professionally and I am very grateful to our team here all of whom I thanked on Wednesday.

Schools are always evolving and we have seen significant change due to developments in the college and from external challenges  such as new curriculum and technology. I feel assured the job I had to do has been largely done and the college is well placed for its next steps.

I’d like to thank our parents and carers for their support over this time. We have always called on you to support our work with your daughters and sons and I thank you for that vital backing. Parenting is challenging and it never seems to get easier, just more complex as new challenges emerge. We walk that journey with you and I’m very thankful for your engagement and support. I particularly want to thank Dr Rex Stanton and our College Advisory Council now and in the past who have been such a wonderful source of advice and support for college leadership, myself in particular.

I thank our students who embrace life at Kildare with such energy and enthusiasm and wish them well as they continue to grow towards their chosen pathways in life.

Best wishes to Christie Scutti as Interim Principal. I am certain she will do a wonderful job supported by Mille Bright as Assistant Principal (Acting) and our College Leadership Team. We look forward to the announcement of a new permanent Principal in due course.

Rest assured you are all in my prayers and be confident your God is with you always and His Son Jesus wants to be with you as your inspiration.

My wife Donna and I  are looking forward to  the next phase of our lives with a growing family including two grandchildren who await us. I am not clear on my next professional steps. I will be continuing in Catholic education in some capacity but rest assured I will keep a special place in my heart for my time here at Kildare. Best wishes to you all.

God Bless
