2026 Attitudes to School Survey

Each year, students across Victorian government schools take part in the Attitudes to School Survey (AtoSS). It gives our students an opportunity to tell us how they feel about school  their learning, friendships, wellbeing, relationships with staff and their overall sense of belonging at Miners Rest Primary School.

Students complete the survey individually and anonymously, which is really important. It means students can be open and honest about their experiences. At its heart, this is our students telling us what it feels like to be a student at our school.

We really value what our students have to say. Their feedback helps us celebrate what we are doing well, while also helping us understand where we can continue to grow and improve.

We also have a high completion rate for the survey.  This is important because the more students who participate, the more confident we can be that the results genuinely reflect the experiences and views of our students, rather than those of just a small group.

We’re looking forward to sharing some of our 2026 AtoSS results with our school community. Most importantly, we want our students and families to see that we listen to what our students tell us and use their voice to help shape what we do at Miners Rest Primary School.

The data above indicates a strong positive endorsement of differentiated learning challenge at the school, with 92% of students in Years 4–6 providing a positive response. This is notably higher than similar schools (86%), the network (84%) and the state (86%), suggesting that students at the school generally feel they are appropriately challenged in their learning.

These results suggest that students are experiencing classrooms where learning time is effectively utilised, learning is engaging and stimulating, and learning experiences are generally appropriately differentiated.

The strong results may reflect the school's continued focus on differentiation, student engagement and effective teaching practice.
