General Information

Term 2 Uniform
Students may continue to wear their summer school uniform in Term 2. We will officially change into winter uniform after the long weekend in June. We ask that whichever uniform your child elects to wear, that they wear the full uniform correctly - please do not mix summer and winter uniform items. Thank you for your support with this matter.
Labelling of Uniform Items
As the weather is cooling down, we are seeing many jumpers and jackets in the lost property. It is impossible to return items that are unreadable or not labelled at all. Your assistance in labelling ALL uniform items is appreciated.
School Photo Day
School photos will be held Tuesday, 9th June. Please ensure your child wears their full winter school uniform including a tie and polished shoes. Hair is to be neat and tidy with long hair beyond the shoulders tied back with a plain hair-tie or school coloured ribbon (navy or gold/yellow).
McCarthy Catholic College Year 7 Enrolments 2027

Student Support
Sound Scouts
We are pleased to offer hearing screening assessments using Sound Scouts, a fun, game-based app that delivers immediate results. Under the supervision of our Inclusion Support Teacher, Emily Sullivan, students will complete the test on an iPad using headphones.
While testing is prioritised for Kindergarten, older students are also welcome to participate by contacting the school office. Kindergarten families will receive a consent form via Compass in the coming week. Because early intervention is vital for educational success, we highly encourage participation. Please note that the school will only contact you if a potential concern is identified and follow-up is required.
Dealing with Conflict
Conflict is a natural and unavoidable part of family life. As children grow, differences in opinions, emotions and expectations can sometimes lead to tension at home, at school or with peers. While these moments can feel challenging, they also present valuable opportunities to teach young people important life skills. How conflict is managed within the family plays a key role in shaping a child’s ability to communicate, regulate emotions and navigate relationships.
For adult carers, supporting children through conflict means staying calm, listening with empathy and modelling respectful problem-solving. When handled constructively, conflict can strengthen relationships, build resilience and help children develop the confidence to manage disagreements in healthy and productive ways.
This edition of SchoolTV explores practical strategies to help families approach conflict with greater understanding and confidence. Here is the link to this topic http://stjosephstamworth.catholic.schooltv.me/newsletter/dealing-conflict-au
