Year 2 Inquiry - Community Helper Talk

In Inquiry this term, the Year 2s are learning about places and spaces in the community. They have been investigating different types of services and providers and what sorts of things the workers do to help people in the community.

On Wednesday 13th May the Year 2s were lucky enough to have Rhys, our EVPS Facility Manager, visit the Blue Building to talk about his role within the CFA. Rhys is a volunteer within the CFA and is the Lieutenant of his crew! He taught the students about the important role firefighters play in our community. Rhys shared information about what the CFA does, how firefighters work together to help others, the special equipment and protective clothing they use, and the many different emergencies they are called out to. It was a wonderful hands-on learning experience and a fantastic way for students to learn more about community helpers and fire safety.

We thank Rhys for volunteering his time to share his knowledge and experiences with us!
