Combined Bands Day – Intermediate Band

Last Wednesday Intermediate Band combined with schools from across Geelong to workshop new concert band works, expertly conducted by Dr Sue Arney from the University of Melbourne. Our students performed an excellent set of their own pieces and combined with over 100 other musicians to perform two combined items. Many thanks to Amanda Linton for her organisation of this event! 

Combined Choirs Tour - Singit and Singit Stars

Following on the next day, Singit and Singit Stars combined to perform at Roslyn and Oberon Primary schools, performing with great professionalism. The day ended with a combined Choirs workshop and concert hosted by Sacred Heart College. This group of singers were such a positive and fun group to take ‘on tour’, and we were so proud of their performances, and the way they represented our school. Thanks to Emma Moffatt for all her support on the day!

Multicultural Day

Solo CAT performance evenings

On Wednesday 3rd and Thursday 4th June, Ensemble program students will perform a solo in the PAC as part of their Term 2 Performance CAT assessment. These performances give students a chance to develop resilience, confidence, with a supportive audience to cheer them on. Music Support volunteers will be selling Sydney fundraiser chocolates, hot drinks and ice creams from the kiosk during and after the performances, so bring your small change and buy your child a reward for all their hard work preparing for their Solo!

Sydney Tour

Senior Band and Jazz Syndicate are working hard to prepare for their Sydney tour performances, rehearsing in the evenings in addition to their usual rehearsal times. The next evening rehearsal will be on June 10th, for both groups, from 7.00 – 8.30pm.

Winter Concert

All ensembles, large and small, will be performing at this Concert, so make sure you rug up and come along to hear the amazing work students are doing in their ensembles.

If you have a wood fire, consider bringing some cash to buy a ticket or two in the firewood raffle – drawn on the night! You can also buy tickets at the BHS general office prior to the concert.

Tickets are $2 each, or 6 for $10.

Vocal Soiree

Nadine and her vocal students will be hosting their end of term get together on Tuesday June 23rd in the Band room. A fabulous way to end the term, family and friends welcome!
