Round 1 - Under 11 Gold
Magill School (17) vs Stradbroke (0)
Round 1- Under 9 Soccer
Magill (4) vs East Adelaide (3)
On Friday 8 May, twelve students from Years 4–6 proudly represented Magill School at the SAPSASA Cross Country Carnival, held at Foxfield Oval in Athelstone. Competing in the Torrens River division, our students raced against a strong field of competitors from across the district.
For several students, this event marked their first SAPSASA experience, while for others it was their first time participating in cross country, an exciting milestone for all involved. Students born in 2014 and 2015 completed a challenging 3 km course over three laps, while students born in 2016 ran 2 km across two laps.
All students are to be commended for the resilience, effort and determination they demonstrated throughout the event. Congratulations to Ollie T (F1), who placed 4th, an improvement on his 5th place finish last year and to James R (F15), who achieved an impressive 3rd place. As a result of their outstanding performances, both students have qualified for the State Cross Country Championships in early June. We wish Ollie and James every success as they prepare for the next stage of competition.
Despite having a smaller team at the carnival, the encouragement and support shown between students was outstanding. It was particularly pleasing to see students celebrating one another’s achievements and demonstrating such strong teamwork and sportsmanship throughout the afternoon.
A sincere thank you to the many parents and family members who attended to support and encourage our students.
