Dear Magill School Community,

I’m delighted to share some special news—congratulations to Mike Shortt and Olivia Hutchings on the arrival of their beautiful daughter, Giselle Rose! Mike will be on leave for the next few weeks, enjoying those wonderful and sleepless early days of parenthood. We wish his family all the best during this exciting time.

Swimming season is upon us again, with Year 1 and Year 2 students swimming this week, and Receptions taking to the pool next week. As always, the lost property box is beginning to overflow with jocks, socks, towels, and the occasional mystery item—thank you for making sure your child’s belongings are clearly labelled!

A reminder that our Scholastic Book Fair is set for Week 5—a much-anticipated event each year. We look forward to seeing everyone browsing and enjoying the wide selection of books. Please check the School News section of this newsletter for opening times and further details.

At Magill School, we place great emphasis on being a safe and supportive place for everyone. Occasionally, issues may arise, and we believe it’s important these are resolved calmly and respectfully.

We have developed some guidelines to help parents and caregivers navigate the process:

  • Remain calm and respectful in all interactions

  • Recognise different views and perspectives

  • Notify the school early about any concerns

  • Please do not approach another child or parent directly regarding an issue

For more detailed information, please visit our school website:

Thank you for your ongoing support. I am confident that with your partnership and understanding, we can continue to provide a positive and inclusive environment for all.

Looking forward to a fantastic rest of the term!

Warm regards,

John Iannunzio
