Indigenous Australian Engineering Program - January 2027

Hello Parents, Careers and Students Please see below information that has been communicated with us about an Engineering program. Applications are now open for the Indigenous Australian Engineering School (IAES) program, hosted by UNSW Sydney Engineering in January 2027. This one-week camp is designed for Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander students who will be in Years 10, 11 or 12 in 2027. Fully funded by UNSW and Engineering Aid Australia, the IAES program offers students an immersive engineering experience, including hands-on activities and insights into engineering careers. Students will stay for six nights, with all travel, accommodation and meals fully covered, making the program completely free for students and families. Alongside the engineering activities, the program will include cultural, social and peer-based activities. Key details:

Dates: 10–16 January 2027
Camp location: Powerhouse Parramatta, hosted by UNSW Sydney
Cost: Completely free for students, including travel, accommodation and meals
Application closing date: 1 November 2026 at 12:00 am (midnight)

Recess and Lunch orders can be ordered on the Compass app. Please see the steps below for ordering. If emergency meals need to be dropped off at the school, please take note of the students' break times and have meals at school on time. This will help your child have a smoother day and not miss crucial learning in the classroom.

Primary Break Times -

Recess: 11 am - 11:30 am

Lunch: 1 pm - 1:30 pm

Secondary Break Times -

Recess: 11.10 am - 11:40 am

Lunch: 1:40 pm - 2:10 pm
