School Hats

Everyone loves a maths equation: The sun is out + UV is increasing = It's time for hats!

We have been enjoying some amazing weather recently, and with warmer days arriving and UV levels continuing to rise, it is now time for hats to become a daily part of the school routine.  

For the remainder of the year, we require students to wear their school hat whenever they are outside at play. This includes recess, lunch, PE lessons, sport, and any other outdoor activities. To help students be ready for the day, we ask families to please ensure a school hat is packed in their child's bag each morning.

We understand this is a change from our previous practice of requiring hats during Terms 1 and 4. With Term 3 finishing later in the year and UV ratings increasing at present, this is an important step in continuing to care for the health and wellbeing of our students. Thank you for your support as we work together to keep our students safe while they enjoy time outdoors.

Uniform Changeover

As we approach Term 4, it is time to start looking ahead at summer uniform for Primary students in Prep - Year 6. All Primary students are required to wear full summer uniform for Terms 1 and 4 as per our uniform policy.  This also includes our ‘Yes Hat, Yes Play’ policy requiring all primary students to wear either our school legionnaire or slouch hat whilst outside.

Please visit our uniform shop (now located in the Central Office) if you require any new uniform items during our office hours, 8:00am-4:00pm. 

We also have a range of free donated second-hand uniform available through our uniform store. Pop in and see our lovely admin staff in the Central Office and our team will be happy to show you what is currently in stock. Uniform donations are always welcome and can be left at the Central Office. There is also a DCS Community Uniform Facebook Group for buying, selling or giving away uniforms. Students in Kinder have the option of wearing navy track pants or navy shorts.

All items are available for purchase from the school uniform shop except for socks and shoes.

School shoes should be all black (with no other colours visible).

Primary Assemblies on Pause

We wish to advise that our Primary Assemblies will be on pause on Friday 25th September.

Please join us on Monday 28th September for our Primary assembly from 8.30am in the Jiloa Centre. All certificates which would normally be presented at Friday assembly will be presented on Monday 28th September.

Kidpreneur Challenge 2026 - Success!

Thank you so much to everyone who supported our Year 5/6 students at Kidpereneur! We are incredibly proud of all the hard work, creativity and dedication they put into the event.

Together, our students raised a whopping $4,000, which is an incredible achievement! Even more importantly, all the money raised will be donated to three amazing charities: Cancer Council, Dolly’s Dream and Ronald McDonald House Charities.

It was wonderful to see our Year 5/6 students working together, learning about running a small business, and using their ideas to make a positive difference in our community. Their hard work, teamwork and generosity have helped support some very important causes.

A huge thank you to all the families, teachers, staff and community members who came along, supported the stalls, purchased products and encouraged our students. We couldn't have achieved this amazing result without your support.

We are so proud of our Year 5/6's and everything they have accomplished through Kidpreneur. Raising $4,000 for charity is something they should all be extremely proud of!

Year 3/4 Learn to Swim Program

This week, it has been the turn of our Year 3/4 students to take part in our Learn to Swim program. Following a fantastic week for our Prep to Year 2 classes, the Year 3/4 students have embraced every opportunity to challenge themselves in the water, develop new swimming skills, and build their confidence. 

Just as importantly, students have enjoyed the chance to spend time together as a Year 3/4 community. It has been wonderful to see them encouraging and cheering on one another, celebrating achievements, and supporting classmates as they learn new skills. The week has been filled with fun, laughter, and plenty of learning, making it a valuable and memorable experience for all involved. Well done to our Year 3/4 students for their positive attitude and enthusiastic participation.
