Acting Principal's Message

Welcome back! I hope you all had a restful, safe, and happy winter break with your families. There is always a distinct shift in energy as we head into Term 3—the mornings are still crisp, but there is a collective focus and momentum that makes this one of the most productive terms of the school year.

Whether you spent the holidays travelling, catching up with friends, or simply enjoying a slower pace of life, I hope you are returning with renewed energy and enthusiasm. A special, warm welcome to the new families and students joining our school community for the first time this week. We are thrilled to have you with us.

Term 3 is often considered the "engine room" of the academic year. With the routines of the first half of the year firmly established, now is the time for our students to consolidate their learning, push their boundaries, and really strive for growth. 

Thank you to our parents and caregivers, for your ongoing partnership. Your support at home—whether it’s helping manage busy schedules, encouraging reading, or simply asking "What did you learn today?"—makes a profound difference in your child's educational journey.

We look forward to seeing you at our upcoming community events, including the

Family Mass, petting zoo and performance, Father's Day, Book Week celebrations, First Holy Communion, Sacrament of Baptism, 100 Days of Kindergarten and the Mary MacKillop Mass. 

A reminder to our students that every term is a fresh start. Set your goals high, be kind to your peers, and don't be afraid to make mistakes—that is exactly how learning happens.

Let’s work together to make Term 3 a rewarding, inspiring, and successful term for everyone.

Term 3 Prayer

Lord, as we start Term 3, 

We ask for Your guidance, peace, and blessing 

over our entire school community. 

We pray for our students, 

that You grant them a renewed enthusiasm for learning, 

the resilience to face new challenges, 

and hearts full of kindness for their peers. 

Bless our dedicated teachers and staff 

with wisdom, energy, and inspiration

 as they guide our children each day. 

For our families and parents, 

we pray for patience and peace 

amidst the busy routines ahead. 

May our school continue to be a safe, 

welcoming space where every individual can grow and thrive. 

We place this upcoming term into Your hands.

Grandparent's Day Celebrations

Last Friday, our school community came together for a truly memorable Grandparents’ Day. The morning commenced with a celebration of Mass by our newly appointed Priest ~ Fr Hung, followed by a heartfelt tribute at the Possum Playground and a delightful morning tea on school grounds. The performances, expertly coordinated by our Performing Arts teacher, Mrs McInness, showcased the remarkable talents of our students and were met with great enthusiasm and admiration. Mrs Temple our Librarian co-ordinated the book donations which is an important aspect of children developing their literacy and love of reading. 

We are deeply grateful for the presence of grandparents in our lives. Their wisdom, love, and unwavering support play an invaluable role in shaping our families and nurturing our children. We thank them sincerely for all they do.

I would like to extend my heartfelt appreciation to Mrs McInness, our dedicated staff, and the many parents who contributed to the success of this special event. Your commitment and hard work are truly appreciated.

A special thank you also goes to the Parents and Friends Committee, led by Sean Sheridan, and the many volunteers who prepared and served the morning tea—it was a warm and welcoming highlight of the day.

Holiday Building Works

Over the holiday break, significant progress was made on the painting of our school. The fresh exterior paintwork has already transformed the appearance of the site, creating a vibrant and welcoming environment for students, staff and visitors. We are delighted with the results to date and are hopeful that the project will be completed by the end of week 4. 

In addition to the external painting, the contractors also undertook internal painting works in the Turret and Nagle Room, further enhancing these important learning and community spaces. We thank our facilities team and contractors for their efforts in improving our school environment.

Welcome to Fr Hung Le - Petting Zoo, Activities, Family Mass and Sausage Sizzle!

We warmly welcome Fr Hung and Fr Kimmi to our parish and school community for sharing their faith and fellowship. Families are invited to join us for a special Family Mass, also by attending a range of exciting activities including a petting zoo, games and a delicious sausage sizzle. Many students will be involved in the mass by reading and presenting a liturgical dance. This is a fantastic opportunity for students, parents and parishioners to come together, strengthen community connections and celebrate the joy of being part of our faith family. We look forward to sharing this special occasion with everyone and hope to see you there!

Demel and Mr Ozzie Clarinet Concert

We really enjoyed the Flute and Clarinet concert because the teachers showed their technical skills when playing the instruments. It was really great how they played songs that related to other countries ~ Spain, Argentina and Brazil also music from Austria. They even played music from the Fifa World Cup. When they played they were very confident and moved their bodies to the rhythm. We all thought it was a very relaxing experience to listen to beautiful music. The question time gave us an opportunity to learn about the different instruments and music. Thank you Mr Ozzie and Daniel!

Eva McEvoy: NSW Interschools Equestrian Competition - CONGRATULATIONS!

I just recently competed at Interschools which was at SIAC. There was 3 days at the competition , which I represented St Anthony's. On the first day I came 5th in the 70cm, on the second day I came 3rd  and on the last day I came 1st! The comittee add up all the points for the three days, in which I came 1st overall.

I will be representing NSW at National Inter Schools Equestrian Competition which will be held in Victoria at the end of September.
