Reflection -Fifth Sunday of Easter (May 3, 2026)

In a world that often feels uncertain and overwhelming, Jesus’ words, “Do not let your hearts be troubled,” speak directly into our deepest fears. He does not dismiss anxiety—but meets it with a promise: trust in me. He reminds us that we are not alone, and that our lives are held within a greater purpose, one that leads us home to the Father.
When Jesus says, “I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life,” he is not simply giving direction—he is inviting relationship. To follow his way is to live as he lived: with humility, compassion, and a willingness to serve. This is made clear in his actions, especially in the washing of the feet. Love, for Jesus, is not a feeling or an idea—it is something we do. It looks like service, sacrifice, and putting others before ourselves.
To live this way, we must remain connected to him, like branches to a vine. When we abide in Christ, our lives begin to bear fruit—kindness, patience, forgiveness, and courage. Without that connection, we struggle; with it, we are strengthened to continue his mission in the world.
Peter’s image of “living stones” reminds us that faith is not a solitary journey. Together, we are being built into something sacred—a community grounded in Christ, the cornerstone. Each of us has a place, a role, and a purpose in this spiritual house.
In times of uncertainty, Jesus calls us not just to believe in him, but to live through him—to trust deeply, love actively, and serve generously. This is the “new” way of living: a life shaped not by fear, but by faith in the one who is always with us.
