Meet our Staff

Mrs Muirhead

Hello, I’m Michelle Muirhead, 

I have had the privilege of working at POPS since 2013, mostly in the office, however in 2018 I supported a Foundation class which I thoroughly enjoyed. 

Prior to working here, I was a Medical Social Worker and meditation teacher, but more importantly, a parent volunteer at POPS, Mum to my now 25yr old daughter. I couldn’t imagine farewelling POPS when she finished Year 6, so I completed the Education Support course and was gratefully employed. 

I truly love my role supporting the office, I especially value assisting and getting to know parents and students and the informal chats at the window. 

I also value and appreciate the supportive working relationships and the friendships I have made here. 

In my free time I enjoy cinema, theatre, reading on my verandah, walking around the Orchard with my pups, coffee at Coopers, yoga and gym. A simple, fulfilling life. 

I love that POPS continues to be such a significant and enjoyable part of my week.

Hello everyone!

I’m excited to be part of the Park Orchards Primary School community. While I mostly hide in the back office, I love saying hello at the office front desk helping our amazing office team make sure everything runs smoothly for our staff, students and families.

Although I'm still sort of new to POPS, I’ve worked in other schools and finance-y jobs over a lot of years! I love finding ways to improve processes, solve problems and support our wonderful school community.

Outside of work, I have 3 kids of my own, 2 have finished school and 1 is still in high school. I love spending time with family and friends, getting lost in a good book, walking my dog, Odin, and enjoying a good cuppa.  I love my tea and the stronger it is the better. I have a soft spot for spreadsheets and colour-coded lists—something the POPS staff may have noticed.

I feel very fortunate to be working alongside such a welcoming and dedicated team at Park Orchards Primary School and look forward to getting to know our families throughout the year. Please don't hesitate to say hello if you pop into the office.
