Thrive Wellbeing & Counselling Services
Hello,
My name is Emily Gascoyne and I am an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker and the founder of Thrive Wellbeing & Counselling Services.
I am reaching out to introduce the new Mindful Girls Programs, a series of small group wellbeing programs supporting girls across childhood and adolescence:
- Mindful Girls Foundations — ages 6–8
- Mindful Girls Bloom — ages 9–12
- Mindful Girls Teen — ages 13–15
Each program is thoughtfully tailored to the developmental needs of its age group, while sharing a common purpose: helping girls build confidence, resilience and emotional wellbeing.
Through evidence informed strategies and engaging, age appropriate activities, girls develop skills in areas such as:
- Understanding and managing emotions
- Confidence and self worth
- Coping with worries, stress and anxiety
- Healthy friendships and boundaries
- Mindfulness and relaxation
- Resilience and practical coping skills
Sessions are held in Gisborne in calm, supportive small group settings where every girl can feel seen, heard and encouraged.
I have attached an information flyer with further details. I would be very grateful if you could share it with families through your school newsletter, wellbeing team or parent communication platform.
Families are welcome to contact me directly with questions or to discuss which program may best suit their child.

**Family Support**
Families should know that support is available whenever it’s needed, and reaching out can make a meaningful difference during challenging times.
Whether facing emotional stress, financial pressure, health concerns, or unexpected life changes, there are services, community groups, and professionals ready to listen and help. Seeking assistance is a practical step toward finding solutions, gaining reassurance, and staying connected.
No one has to navigate difficulties alone—support networks exist to provide guidance, understanding, and care when it matters most.
If your family requires assistance, please contact the office.
**Parents Helpers Needed**
All of our events rely on parent support to run smoothly. If you’re able to spare some time on a Monday or Tuesday morning to help with Hot Chocolate Club or Breakfast Club, your assistance would be greatly appreciated.
