...Mrs Clarke...

This term, our school continues to align strongly with the Department of Education’s Brighter Futures strategy, which is centred on delivering excellence in every Queensland state school for every student.

Across Queensland, Brighter Futures highlights two key priorities:

  • Educational achievement
  • Belonging and engagement

At Goondiwindi State School, this means strengthening high‑quality teaching, fostering strong relationships, and ensuring every classroom is a “maximum learning zone” where students are engaged behaviourally, emotionally and cognitively.

Our annual implementation plan and school budget has been submitted for approval by Ed Qld with our 2 priorities being focused on the improvement in Reading for all students and a strong focus on the quality teaching and learning that happens every day in every area of the school.

Our Years 3 & 5 children will commence NAPLAN testing online next week.  Children and families have been encouraged to access the NAPLAN demonstration site online so that children are more familiar with how the testing platform works before testing days.  We encourage our Y3 & 5 children to do their best!

We have had many children selected in representative sport teams already this year, we wish them all the best as they take on the next level of competition.
