Around the School

4S
In Science, we have been investigating habitats and living things, which provided a wonderful opportunity to extend our learning beyond the classroom. Students explored the Reconciliation Garden using four of their senses—sight, smell, hearing and touch—to observe and engage with the environment. They carefully sketched elements of the habitat and then labelled and classified what they found, deepening their understanding of how living and non-living components interact within an ecosystem.
We also learned that our Reconciliation Garden features a ceremonial garden of plants used in ceremonies and dances, a medicinal garden, and a culinary (food) garden. These three gardens contain plants that are traditionally and regularly used by the Bigambul people.
