Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL)
đ PBL Focus: Teamwork & Respect
This week our PBL focus is Teamwork, with a strong emphasis on Respect. Students are learning how to play games fairly and cooperatively.
We are reminding students to:
- Know and follow the rules
- Decide together who starts the game
- Wait patiently for their turn
- Show respect at all times
- Say something kind at the end of the game
Working together and treating others with respect helps everyone enjoy playtime đ
Community Connection
To support the development of teamwork and respect, PCYC have been regular and valued visitors to our school. Sergeant Jason and Zane have been working with a group of our Year 5 students through the Team Up program, supporting students to build positive relationships, communication skills, and cooperation.
Â
In addition to the Team Up sessions, Jason and Zane have also been running engaging games during break times, encouraging inclusive play and positive social interactions across the school.
Â
Their consistent presence, enthusiasm, and positive relationships with students make a meaningful difference to our school community. We greatly value the time, energy, and support that PCYC provide and thank them for their ongoing commitment to our students.
Â
Wellbeing & Behaviour at Our School
To support our PBL focus on Teamwork and Respect, we are sharing the Touch Football rules with families. Taking time to go through these rules at home helps students clearly understand expectations for safe, fair, and respectful play at school. When students know the rules before playing, it reduces misunderstandings, supports positive behaviour, and ensures everyone can enjoy the game safely. We ask parents and carers to please discuss these rules with their children and reinforce the importance of following them during play.

Every Day Counts â Attendance Matters
Â
Regular school attendance is essential for studentsâ learning, wellbeing, and sense of belonging. Being at school every day helps students stay connected to routines, friendships, and classroom learning.
Â
If your child is unable to attend school for any reason (including illness, family circumstances, travel, or other commitments), please notify the school as soon as practical. Where possible, providing a return date assists us to support your childâs learning and wellbeing.
Â
School staffing and resources are allocated based on student enrolment and attendance records, so it is important that absences are communicated to the school.
Thank you for supporting positive attendance habits and student success.
