Launching Girton’s new Mission and Values
Girton Grammar School proudly launched its new Mission and Values at the 2025 Speech Nights, following a meaningful and collaborative consultation process with staff, students, parents and carers, the Board and Founders. Through surveys and focus group sessions, the Girton community came together to reflect on what Girton is today and what it aspires to become. We extend our sincere thanks to everyone who contributed their time, insights and perspectives to help shape this important next chapter for the School.
Girton’s new mission — We educate and empower young people to achieve and flourish in their aspirations for life — sits at the heart of our identity. Our identity statements, along with our six values of educational excellence, determination, respect, curiosity, compassion and connection, describe how this mission will be lived every day across our community. They honour Girton’s rich history while clearly defining the direction of our future.
At Girton, we are here not only to guide and support our students, but to empower them to explore their interests, try new things and come to understand themselves and each other. Parents and carers, students, teachers and alumni all play a vital role in nurturing a culture of trust, belonging and shared purpose. As the School moves forward, we are excited to see the entire community begin embedding Girton’s new mission, identity and values throughout 2026 and beyond.
To help bring our new Mission and Values to life, the School has released a short video exploring Girton’s new mission and values in action. Featuring voices from across our community, the video highlights how these principles shape learning, relationships and opportunities at Girton, and how they will guide the School into the future.
A new look for Girton
Following the launch of our new Mission and Values,Girton Grammar has also unveiled a refreshed brand identity, introducing new visual elements that reflect the evolution of the School. This evolution has included growth in our campus footprint, student enrolments and House structure, as well as a desire to clearly differentiate Girton in an increasingly competitive and digital educational landscape. The updated branding provides a contemporary and confident expression of who we are today, while remaining deeply connected to our story.
A key highlight of the refreshed branding is the launch of a re-designed Girton crest, revealed for the first time at the 2025 Speech Night.
Like our Mission and Values, the new crest has been carefully developed to capture the spirit of Girton as it is now, while honouring the School’s proud heritage. It has also been created with greater flexibility and clarity for use across modern digital platforms, ensuring the Girton identity is both future-focused and enduring — appealing to the next generation of Girtonians, while remaining meaningful for our alumni community.
