A Paediatric Occupational Therapist (OT) supports children to develop the skills they need to learn, play and participate in everyday activities. They may help with things such as fine motor skills (e.g. handwriting, cutting and using scissors), coordination, concentration, sensory needs, emotional regulation, self-care skills and independence. Paediatric OTs work closely with children, families and schools to understand what a child finds challenging and provide practical strategies and activities to help them feel confident, capable and ready to participate.
Here's some valuable information about OT's and their role in supporting children.
