Enjoy the Holiday Break!

As we reach the end of another busy and rewarding term, I would like to thank our students, staff and families for their continued support and contribution to our school community.

It has been wonderful to see our students learning, growing and enjoying all that school has to offer throughout the term.

I wish all our families a happy, safe and relaxing holiday break. I hope everyone has the opportunity to enjoy some time together, recharge and make the most of the warmer weather.

We look forward to welcoming everyone back next term, refreshed and ready for another great term at Bridgewater Primary School.

School Sleepover

What a fantastic night we had at our school sleepover! Students enjoyed a mini disco, pizza for dinner, followed by a movie before settling down to sleep in their classrooms.

The fun continued this morning with scrambled eggs for breakfast and plenty of outdoor games to finish off the experience.

Opportunities like our school sleepover are about more than just having fun. They provide students with valuable opportunities to build independence, confidence and resilience in a safe and supportive environment. Spending a night away from home, looking after their belongings, helping with routines and spending time with their peers are all important steps in developing these skills.

It was fantastic to see our students embracing the experience, supporting one another and creating some wonderful memories together!

On Wednesday, we celebrated Footy Colours Day at Bridgewater Primary School. Students loved dressing up in their favourite team colours, with some students choosing to wear their favourite colours instead.

At lunchtime, students enjoyed a delicious hot dog supplied by the school before taking part in a range of footy-themed competitions during break times. There was plenty of excitement and friendly competition as students tested their skills in events including the longest kick, target kicking and Around the World.

Back in the classrooms, teachers got into the spirit of the day with a range of footy-themed activities, including Footy Dice and other fun learning experiences.

Footy Colours Day is always a fun day at Bridgewater Primary School and was a great way to celebrate the final week of Term 3. It was fantastic to see our students getting involved, showing their team spirit and enjoying some friendly competition with their classmates.

Term 4 Curriculum Days

School Council has approved two Curriculum Days for Term 4. These days will provide staff with valuable time to focus on important planning, reporting and school improvement work.

The Curriculum Days will be held on:

• Monday 19 October – School Wide Positive Behaviour Support (SWPBS) work and curriculum planning
• Monday 2 November – Report writing
•  

Please note that Tuesday 3 November is the Melbourne Cup Public Holiday, meaning families will enjoy a four-day weekend following the Monday Curriculum Day.

Students will not attend school on either of these Curriculum Days.

We appreciate families making note of these dates when planning for Term 4.

Meeting Paddy the Otter 🦦

Last Monday, we had a very exciting Zoom session with Halls Gap Zoo, where we had the opportunity to meet our sponsored animal, Paddy the Otter!

Students were able to ask the zookeeper lots of great questions about Paddy, Halls Gap Zoo and what it is like to work as a zookeeper. We learnt more about Paddy, her daily life and the important work involved in caring for the animals at the zoo.

It was fantastic to meet Paddy and learn more about her, and we are looking forward to our upcoming sessions with Halls Gap Zoo and continuing to learn about the animals in their care.
