Last week, we had a group of Grade 6 students attend the John Monash Science School at Monash University as a part of the Learning Outreach Program. Our students will be involved in 4 different sessions that will investigate Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Robotics.

Each session they will work alongside a Year 10 or 11 student from the John Monash Science School as well as other Grade 6 students from Metro Melbourne areas to mentor them through a series of learning tasks, experiments and assessments. Our Grade 6 students will continue their experience this week and into Term 4.

A reminder that we will be celebrating our annual Footy Colours Day on Friday 18th September, the final day of school! Students and staff are encouraged to come dressed in the colours of their favourite footy team (or sports team) and help us celebrate our love of sport and our wonderful school community.
We will also be supporting the Footy Colours Day to raise awareness and funds for the Fight Cancer Foundation to support children and young people fighting cancer. We kindly ask families to bring a gold coin donation on the day.

If you are able or would like to make a direct donation, you can do so through our school fundraising page: https://www.footycoloursday.com.au/fundraisers/hamptonprimaryschool123/footy-colours-day-2026-schools
And of course, the annual Staff vs Students Footy Match will be taking place during the day! Get your footy colours ready, show your team spirit, and help us finish the year with plenty of fun and excitement!
Our Grade 3 and 4 students recently enjoyed a special visit from players representing the St Kilda AFLW team. The players shared their personal journeys into sport, speaking about their experiences, challenges and the dedication required to achieve their goals at the elite level.

Students were captivated as they listened to stories about perseverance, teamwork and resilience, while learning about the pathways available to young people interested in pursuing sport. The players also spoke about the importance of maintaining a healthy balance between training, education and personal wellbeing.

The visit provided an excellent opportunity for students to ask questions and gain insight into life as a professional athlete. We thank the St Kilda AFLW players for taking the time to visit our school and inspire our students to pursue their passions, work hard and believe in themselves.
