Focus on setting your mind on things above - written by Sirine Nakhoul

“O my God, I can live by your Grace,

I can rest on your Sacred Heart!

O Heart of Jesus, treasure of tenderness,

You, Yourself are my happiness, my only hope”.

Congratulations to the 43 students (pictured) who commendably completed 15 hours of service-learning for the Providence Program Bronze Award. This now takes the total number of Bronze Award recipients to 80 students in Year 11. These students have each demonstrated Maronite Values and contributed to the lives of others at MCHF by doing several good works. They have each received encouragement and support from Mrs Badr, the Year 11 Pastoral Coordinator, and their homeroom teachers (mentors) Ms Khamis, Ms Sassine, Ms. Khattar, and Ms Pietak over the past 15 weeks.

A feature of this program is that each student must keep a Providence Journal. This promotes individual self-reflection, growth in gratitude, consideration of different Christian virtues, and a space for prayer.

June Morning Adoration

"From the Eucharist comes the strength to live the Christian life and zeal to share that life with others.“ - Pope John Paul II

On Wednesday the 5th of June, MCHF students came together to Adore Our Lord Jesus Christ in the Eucharist, offering their prayers and intentions for their Families, College, and Community.

Year 7 Reflection Day

Year 7 students enjoyed the Reflection Day workshops on Friday 31 May at MCHF. The theme ‘I belong to God, my family, and MCHF!’ was explored from different standpoints throughout the day. Year 7 started the day with the Divine Liturgy and opportunity for Reconciliation in the parish. They also enjoyed a hot meal from the Five Loaves Café for their lunch. Thank you to Mr Jones, Sr Juliette, and all the teachers who worked to make the day possible for Year 7.

Homeless Feeds

Once again, our wonderful students had the privilege to partake in the uplifting initiative of feeding the homeless throughout the month of June. It's great to see our students following the footsteps of Jesus, volunteering their time to serve others.

MCHF Aged Care Visits

7 June 2024

MCHF Drummers were invited to perform for our beautiful Aged care members during a special barbeque lunch.

13 June 2024

Students from Year 11 and Year 9 were privileged to visit the elderly people at the Age Care Mercy Place at Harris Park and were able to create memorable paintings with them. This experience reminded them of the significance of community, values, and the importance of respecting our elders

Faith Formation

13.06.24

Secondary students had the opportunity to attend a Faith Formation talk about "Qadisha Valley" known as the Holy Valley and the Forest of the Cedars of God, located in North Lebanon. This unique and wonderful place has been a place of meditation and refuge since the earliest years of Christianity, especially for the Maronites, and it is considered a World Heritage Site.

Visiting the Chapel - Kindergarten

This month, Kindergarten visited the chapel as they have been learning about the important items found in the Church with Sr Rita.

The Sacred Heart of Jesus

3 Beige received the statue of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, and they prayed the Rosary with 5 Sapphire.
