Year 11 Environmental Science Camp

From October 22 – 24, 37 Year 11 Environmental Science students and four staff members enjoyed three incredible days on the Bellarine Peninsula for the annual Environmental Science Camp. During the camp, students participated in a sustainable farming workshop at Common Ground in Freshwater Creek and heard an engaging presentation from a recent Marine Biology graduate from Deakin University.

The highlights included snorkelling with Australian Fur Seals at Pope’s Eye, conducting water quality testing in Port Phillip Bay, and completing a plastic transect survey along the Queenscliff beach. Students also deepened their understanding of how climate change is impacting our oceans during an interactive session at the Marine Discovery Centre. The students were absolutely amazing — participating enthusiastically in every activity and representing the school with pride and respect.
