Teaching & Learning

Student Laptop-Free Day – Monday 23 March

On this day, all students are asked to leave their laptops in their lockers and not bring them to class. Teachers will be providing learning activities that do not require laptops, giving everyone an opportunity to engage in learning in different ways.

This day is an opportunity to:

  • focus on discussion, collaboration and hands-on learning
  • reduce screen time during the school day
  • experience a variety of learning approaches in the classroom.

Year 10 Work Experience

Work Experience provides a valuable opportunity for our Year 10 students to explore potential career pathways, develop important workplace skills, and build confidence in a professional environment.

We encourage families to support their child in securing a suitable placement and ensuring all required documentation is completed and submitted to both the employer and the school by the end of Term 1.

Key Details:

  • Work Experience Week: Monday 27 April – Friday 1 May (no scheduled classes during this week)
  • Deadline for Placement Confirmation and Paperwork: End of Term 1

If you have any questions or require support, please contact the Careers Office. We look forward to working in partnership with families to ensure this is a rewarding and enriching experience for all Year 10 students.

Term 1 Interim Reports & Parent-Teacher-Student Conferences

Teachers are currently preparing Term 1 Interim Reports, which will be available to parents and students via Compass on Friday 27 March. These reports provide valuable feedback on each student’s learning behaviours and indicate whether their progress has been satisfactory across all subjects.

With our continuous reporting model on Compass, families can access assessment tasks and teacher feedback as they are completed. A summary of all assessments will also be included in the Semester Reports.

We encourage families to take this opportunity to review the Interim Reports, celebrate the achievements of Term 1, and set goals for the remainder of the semester.

Parent-Teacher-Student Conferences

On Friday 20 March, families will receive information via Compass regarding our upcoming Parent-Teacher-Student Conferences, with bookings opening on the same day. These conferences provide an opportunity for you and your child to meet with teachers, discuss academic progress, and set learning goals.

During the conference, teachers will share insights into your child’s strengths, areas for improvement, and strategies for success. Students are also encouraged to reflect on their learning and discuss any challenges they may be facing.

Conference Details:

📅 Wednesday, 1 April | 3:45 PM – 7:00 PM

📅 Thursday, 2 April | 8:30 AM – 1 PM (Student-Free Day)

📍 Kildare Campus

These conferences are a valuable opportunity to strengthen the partnership between home and school, ensuring that each student receives the support they need to reach their full potential.

We look forward to meeting with you.
