DIVISION SWIMMING UPDATE 18TH MARCH
Division Swimming kicked off with sunshine and smiles all around the swim centre. Our school was proudly represented by Brianna, Kenzi, Chloe, and Skylar, who competed with outstanding respect, resilience, responsibility, and our well-known good sportsmanship.
A big thank you to our parents for your continued support, encouragement, and the time you take to help make these opportunities possible. We are proud to share the following results:
Brianna: 1st in Backstroke – off to Regionals! And 4th in Freestyle
Kenzi: 3rd in Butterfly
Skylar: 2nd in Freestyle & 4th in Backstroke
Relay Team Results: 4th in Medley Relay & 3rd in Freestyle Relay (the team competed in the U12/13 competition, so this is impressive!)
These are fantastic achievements, and simply reaching this level is something to be very proud of. Well done, girls!
Physical Education - Miss Atherton
This fortnight, students in Foundation to Year 2 have continued building their athletics skills with great enthusiasm and focus. It’s been wonderful to see their confidence and coordination developing each session. Meanwhile, students in Years 3 to 6 are just getting started on their athletics journey, and we’re excited to watch their progress over the coming weeks.
Across the whole school, students have also had the opportunity to complete a slow practice run of our new Cross Country track. This has helped everyone become familiar with the course and build confidence, while also setting personal goals to work towards.
Keep your eyes peeled on Compass for more Cross Country information coming very soon!
Visual Arts
A big thank you to all the students who participated in the Pakenham Art Show! The wonderful artworks will be on display at Bunyip Primary School, near the office. Please feel free to come by and take a look.
These beautiful “Life Under the Sea” artworks were created (from left to right) by Hayley P.; Jackson and William N.; and Lexi C. and Daxton H.A.
Science
The Science Room is full of LIFE! Prep - 2 students have been observing the growth of their pea plants and learning all about the function of different plant organs; they even created some models to demonstrate their learning! The Grade 3/4 students are planning an investigation to test the needs of bean plants, and the Grade 5/6 students have been learning about plant adaptations.
Our wonderful Science monitors have also been helping to care for our quickly maturing spiny leaf insects and all other living organisms in the Science Room! We are so lucky to have such dedicated leaders!
