The last day for uniform delivery this term will be Friday 27th March.
Deliveries of uniforms to the school will resume the first week of Term 2.
LUNCHTIME CUTLERY
PLEASE ENSURE THAT YOU PROVIDE YOUR CHILD WITH ANY CUTLERY NEEDED FOR THEIR LUNCH AND SNACK.
ONLINE LUNCH ORDERING
We have a number of children that are missing out on their lunch orders due to user error. Please make sure you select the correct date and move through each step to avoid your child missing out on their lunch order. You can check your receipt to confirm that you've completed the order correctly.
Lunch orders are available on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
Please log in to Qkr! and follow the steps.
Lunch orders are all on line. Orders must be placed by 8:30 a.m.

THE JAPANESE WORD OF THE FORTNIGHT
すごい (pronounced ‘sugoi’) which means ‘great’ is the Japanese Word for Week 9 & 10 of Term 1.
You can simply use ‘すごい’(‘sugoi’) instead of ‘great’ when you see or hear something great.

APRIL 2026 HOLIDAY PROGRAM
Bookings for the April 2026 Holiday Program are now open.
Bookings close at 6:00 p.m. on Monday 30th March.
The programs are available from the OSHC service, the school office or by e-mailing Debbie at: debra.russell@education.vic.gov.au for a copy.
Booking requests must be made via the Xplor App.
Excursion consent forms and the waiver form for Le Mans are attached to the program and must be completed before the start of the program.
Paper copies are available from OSHC -- see Debbie and Darren.
MUSIC NOTES
Choir and Ukulele Lunchtime Groups will commence on Wednesday 18th March and Friday 20th March.

Songbirds Choir: Grades 1 - 6
Students wishing to participate in Choir with Ms. Darling will meet in the music room every Friday during the first half of lunchtime. Students are always reminded with an announcement over the loudspeaker.
Choir students are encouraged to bring along a plastic display book (approximate cost - $2.00 from Officeworks and Newsagencies). These books enable students to store music in a neat and orderly fashion should they wish to bring music home.
Ukulele Group: Grades 3 - 6
Ukulele students will meet with Ms. Darling in the music room every Wednesday during the first half of lunchtime. Students ‘jam’ with each other and practice their playing and vocal skills.
Once again, students are always reminded with an announcement over the loudspeaker.
In the event of a wet or sweat day timetable, the music groups will not meet.
The Instrumental music program at Valkstone PS is back for 2026! Having a fantastic start in the later half of 2025, we would love to see even more Valkstone students take up an instrument and start their passion for playing music.
Enrolments are now open: We currently have guitar, drums and piano running in school hours with a waiting list for other instruments.

ICY POLE THURSDAYS ARE BACK
Thursdays are Icy Pole Days in Term 1.
Bring $1 to school and give to your teacher first thing in the morning to ensure that you get your icy pole.

LOST PROPERTY
Lost property is located outside the gym near the STEM room.
This is not for children to just take any jumper/hat they find in the lost property.
Children should only be taking their own items.
Please remember to put your name on your school jumpers, hats etc. to ensure that we are able to return them to you.
