CARITAS - PROJECT COMPASSION FUNDS

Thank you to those people who donated via the Holy Rosary QR code for our Big Water Walk. Many families have also collected money using the Project Compassion boxes. Please return all collection boxes to school by Monday 19th May so we can forward our schools contributions to Caritas Australia before the end of May. We will announce the total funds raised once we have all boxed returned. If you haven’t donated and which to contribute to this worthwhile cause, please do not hesitate to access our school account via the Caritas website, click below for details.

THE MONTH OF MARY

In Catholic tradition, the month of May is dedicated to Mary. Chosen by God above all other women, Mary’s faith and obedience paved the way for the Incarnation. Her example teaches us faith, obedience, humility and most of all, how to love. As St Thomas of Villanova said, “If in this world any creature ever loved God with whole heart, with whole soul, and with whole mind, she was the creature.”

“From Mary we learn to surrender to God’s will in all things.

From Mary we learn to trust even when all hope seems gone.

From Mary we learn to love Christ her Son and the Son of God.”

ST POPE JOHN PAUL II

How ironic that Pope Francis’ choice of final resting place is the perfect segway into the month of Mary celebrations. In the final stage of his earthly journey, Pope Francis was entombed in the papal Basilica of St Mary Major as a sign of his deep devotion to Mary and his desire to be accessible to the people. A New Pope has been elected - we thank the Holy Spirit for guiding the Cardinals in what has been the quickest Conclave in history, taking only 3 votes to come to a final decision. We welcome Pope Leo XIV and look forward to his Leadership.
