Principal's Report

We welcome with joy the news overnight of the appointment of Pope Leo XIV as the new leader of the Catholic Church.
Early reports describe Pope Leo XIV as a diplomatic and compassionate leader, known for his unwavering commitment to justice and peace. With the same energy and vision as his predecessor, he steps into the papacy at a time when the world deeply needs voices of hope, unity, and moral courage.
In his first address, Pope Leo XIV offered strong, uplifting messages—calling the Church to renewed compassion, inclusivity, and global responsibility. His words have already sparked optimism not only within the Church but across the wider world, pointing to a papacy that will champion human dignity and the Gospel call to love and serve all.
Let us pray for Pope Leo XIV as he begins this sacred ministry, that he may be guided by the Holy Spirit in wisdom, strength, and grace.
“The Church must always be a sign of hope, especially in times of uncertainty,” he said—words that remind us of the enduring power of faith, and our shared call to live it boldly.
This week, we celebrate Catholic Education Week, a time to reflect on and give thanks for the many opportunities Catholic schools offer students and families across Victoria.
Catholic schools are places of faith, learning, inclusion and community, and we are proud of the quality of education and care we provide here at Holy Rosary.
We are also in the 2026 enrolment period. If you have a child ready to begin Foundation next year—or know of families in our community interested in joining Holy Rosary—please visit our website to enrol: www.hrwhitehills.catholic.edu.au
A special mention to our Grade 6 students, who have been outstanding ambassadors during recent school tours. They’ve welcomed families, answered questions with maturity, and shared their experiences of life at Holy Rosary with great pride. The feedback from visitors has been overwhelmingly positive—we are very proud of their leadership and example.
🌸 Mother’s Day Celebrations
As we approach Mother’s Day this weekend, may we all take time to honour the women in our lives who love and nurture us—mothers, grandmothers, carers, and special women who walk alongside us with faith and strength.
A heartfelt thank you to everyone who contributed to our Mother’s Day Stall and helped make it such a memorable event for our students. Your generosity and time are greatly appreciated.
This morning we again had a successful muffin for Mum and coffee morning with so many happy faces and warm conversations shared. Special thanks to our Parents and Friends Association for their hard work in organising this beautiful event—your support makes a real difference in the life of our school. We look forward to building upon the success of the day.
📅 Postponed Pupil-Free Day
Please note that the Pupil-Free Day scheduled for next Monday has been postponed, as the planned presenter is currently unwell. This means students will be attending school as normal on Monday. We appreciate your understanding and will advise of the rescheduled date once confirmed.
🏃 Cross Country
Congratulations to all students who participated in our school Cross Country event—the determination, sportsmanship, and encouragement shown were truly inspiring. It was fantastic to see so many parents and friends attend to encourage and support. We now wish all the very best to the students heading off to the Divisional Cross Country next week. We know you’ll represent our school with pride and effort.
Welcome Baby Ruby Belle
We are delighted to share the happy news that Mrs Taylor and her husband Cameron have welcomed a beautiful baby girl, Ruby Belle, into the world. We send them our warmest congratulations on this wonderful addition to their family and wish them many joyful moments together. A sister for Ted and Poppy, I am sure life will certainly be very busy.
