Foundation

Hello Families,

The Foundation students have been busy applying their solid phonics knowledge to sentence writing in Literacy this week. We've spent the last 2 weeks reading and writing about the book There's a Possum in the House by Kirsten Jensen. For the last lesson, they had to think about what mischief a possum would get up to in their house! The children had a great time imagining a possum tipping over their tv, sleeping in their bed, pulling out the stuffing from their teddies and destroying the kitchen (sorry mums and dads!). They did a wonderful job drawing a picture and writing a sentence about their story. There's a lot to think about when you write - letter formation, finger spaces, sounding out words and that it all makes sense, so they should all be very proud of themselves. We hope you have a wonderful weekend, see you in Week 7!

Year 1

Hello Families,

We have had another wonderful and busy week of learning in our classroom. The children have continued to show enthusiasm and curiosity across all learning areas and should be very proud of their efforts.

This week in Mathematics, we have been exploring comparing measurement. It was a wonderful opportunity to get out of the classroom and into the sandpit for some hands-on learning. The children enjoyed comparing and discussing different measurements using informal units in a fun and engaging way. Please enjoy the photos!

Year 2

HELLO Families,

We had a lovely week with our  learning together. We braved the windy weather and acknowledged  national Reconciliation Day decorating purple hibiscus flowers. At Assembly we shared what we have been learning in class. We began with our class prayer,  signing in AUSLAN and finally a story of how Australia's first nation people connected with the land, it's people and animals. So proud of our young learners, thank you families who came to see our Year 2 assembly program.

Year 5/6M

Viraj: Precious Plastics visited our school today and we made stuff out of plastic. Bill was really informative and told us all about how to recycle plastic: what to recycle and what not to. So I really enjoyed the incursion.

Amy: We had fun making moulds into pens, pots and jenga blocks. I made a pen.

Keone: So, I loved the way that Bill was so clear about the instructions and telling us the right thing to do to not get injured. I really love how people made great stuff with already used stuff.

Callix: Today’s incursion was very fun and I really enjoyed shredding plastic and recycling it by making it into something new.

Lawrence: So, I liked the incursion because it was so cool that they had a milk cap shredder and a mould that could make a pot, a pen and jenga blocks. I made a pen. Bill ran the incursion.

Victoria: It was so much fun. I learnt things that I didn’t know before about recycling. I made friends with Audrey because we worked together.

Raffaele: Today, it was one of the best incursions that I have ever experienced because you learned how to recycle plastic and I actually learned a lot.
