Principal News

Dear Sacred Heart Community,
Prayer for Holy Trinity Sunday
Loving God,
Father, Son and Holy Spirit,
we thank You for the gift of Your love that surrounds us each day.
Help us to live as one family, united in faith, kindness and service to others.
May we reflect Your love in our words and actions and grow closer to You in all that we do.
Bless our students, families and staff, and guide us to be people of hope, compassion and peace.
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
Holy Trinity Sunday
This Sunday we celebrate Holy Trinity Sunday, a special feast that honours God as Father, Son and Holy Spirit. The Trinity reminds us that God is love and calls us to live in loving relationships with one another, building a community of faith, kindness and belonging.
Sacred Heart Open Day – This Sunday!
A friendly reminder to our Sacred Heart families that our 2026 Open Day will be held this Sunday, 31 May, from 11:30 am – 12:30 pm.
We warmly invite prospective families to visit our school and experience the calm, welcoming atmosphere, strong sense of community, and commitment to excellence in learning that make Sacred Heart such a special place.
If you know families who may be considering enrolment, please share this invitation with your family, friends, neighbours and the wider community. Word of mouth is one of the greatest gifts you can give our school.
We look forward to welcoming visitors and showcasing all that Sacred Heart has to offer.
For enrolment information and application forms, please contact the school office or book a tour via our website. We would be delighted to welcome new families to the Sacred Heart community. Website: https://www.shpreston.catholic.edu.au
Week 8 Reminder – Curriculum Day
Please note that Monday 8 June is the King’s Birthday Public Holiday and there will be no school on this day.
On Tuesday 9 June, Sacred Heart staff will participate in a Curriculum Day with local Catholic schools. Staff will engage in Religious Education Professional Learning led by Brother David Hall, Dean of the La Salle Academy at Australian Catholic University.
This professional learning will further support staff in strengthening Religious Education and faith formation at Sacred Heart.
There will be no classes for students on Tuesday 9 June. MACSEYE will be available for families requiring care on this day.
We thank families for their support and understanding.
Little Learners Club
This Monday our Little Learners Club had another wonderful session together. The children enjoyed lots of games, puzzles, slime, playdough, beads, colouring and playing with train sets. This week we read Saturday Night at the Dinosaur Stomp. The children enjoyed stomping around the room as dinosaurs and using paint to stomp their dinosaur's feet onto 'muddy' paper!
Our Little Learners Club runs every Monday from 9-10am. All are welcome! It's a great opportunity for children to familiarise themselves with the school and teachers, make friends and enjoy developmentally appropriate play and learning experiences.
We would love to see you there!

The Victorian Premier's Reading Challenge has officially begun at Sacred Heart, and we are excited to encourage all students to participate in this wonderful initiative that promotes a love of reading and helps develop lifelong literacy skills.
Earlier this week, all students received a letter outlining how to register and participate in the Challenge. This year's theme, "Stories to discover. Stories to tell," celebrates the joy of discovering new books and fostering a lifelong love of reading.
Families are encouraged to refer to the letter for information about registration, key dates, and how to access the Premier's letter to parents and the Challenge booklist.
We look forward to seeing our students discover new authors, enjoy great stories, and embrace the joy of reading throughout the Challenge.
A special thank you to Prem Parmar for her outstanding organisation of the Premier's Reading Challenge and for taking the time to register students and support families throughout the process. Her dedication and enthusiasm help make this wonderful reading initiative accessible and enjoyable for all our students.
Please contact Prem Parmar at premalatha.parmar@shpreston.catholic.edu.au if you have any questions or require further information about the Premier's Reading Challenge.
We acknowledge National Sorry Day and National Reconciliation Week (27 May–3 June) as important times for reflection, learning, and a shared commitment to reconciliation, respect and understanding across our community.
Wishing everyone a lovely week.
Warmest regards,
Antoniette Stasi
