Principal's Report

Thoughts from our Principal - Mrs Casey Chard

Dear Parents, Carers and Community Members,

A Future Full of Hope

In a few weeks, we will celebrate Catholic Schools Week with this year’s theme, ‘Our Hope-Filled Future’. In a world that can often feel uncertain, our Catholic values continue to provide a steady and hope-filled foundation for our young people.

Building this future also means having the courage to test ourselves at the next level. Through new challenges and opportunities, students grow in confidence, resilience and character, discovering what they are capable of. I am incredibly proud of our staff for the way they continually support and encourage students to embrace new experiences. I am equally proud of our students for stepping forward with courage, trust and a willingness to grow.

Celebrating Our Commitment to Learning

I would like to sincerely thank our parents and students for the positive start we have made with school attendance this year. Currently, St Joseph’s has an attendance rate of 91% (number of days attended as a percentage of the total number of days) and an attendance level of 73% (proportion of students whose attendance rate is equal to or greater than 90%). This means that 7 out of 10 students are coming to school 90% or more of the time.

These figures reflect the strong partnership between home and school and the value our families place on education. While encouraging, we know there is still room for growth, particularly in increasing the number of students attending more than 90% of the time (attendance level).

Regular attendance is vital for student learning, wellbeing, social connection and confidence. By continuing to work together, we can ensure every child has the best opportunity to thrive each day at school.

Have a wonderful week.

May God bless you and your family.
