Dear Parents,
Last week, I was fortunate to attend and participate in the annual SCS Principals’ Retreat, exploring the theme “Trust in the Lord for true peace, courage and strength.” The gathering was a powerful reminder of the faith that grounds our work and the shared commitment across our schools to lead with compassion, resilience and hope. It was a deeply enriching time of prayer, reflection and collaboration and an inspiring opportunity to pause and reconnect with the heart of our mission.
During our staff prayer this week, we reflected on our core mission and the Mercy value of “Welcome.” Together, we considered how every interaction—big or small—can be an invitation for others to feel seen, safe and valued. This shared time of prayer reminded us that creating a culture of welcome begins with each of us, and it continues to shape the way we greet, teach and care for every student and family in our community. We are so lucky that we belong to such a welcoming community!

“ In every smile, in each hello, a sense of welcome starts to grow. A gentle word, a moment shared, shows every soul is known and cared. Through simple kindness, warm and free, we make a place where all can be.”
