Road Closures / Bus Detours

As communicated at the end of last term, there are upcoming road closures on Warralily Boulevard (Barwon Heads Road end). Big Build Victoria have sent through some updated information around date changes and detour maps, see below for their communication. Attached are the route changes to the buses 45 & 55 and include the road detour maps as well.

The works themselves have been brought forward by one day from what was originally communicated prior to the school holidays.

Works information

Below is an excerpt from the works notification attached and contains the key pieces of updated information for your school community:

From Thursday 7 May to Wednesday 27 May, we’ll work from 6am to 7pm on weekdays and 6am to 7pm on Saturdays and Sundays to upgrade the intersection of Barwon Heads Road and Warralily Boulevard. 

As part of these works, we’ll also build a new roundabout at the intersection of Silky Oak Lane and Warralily Boulevard, and install new underground services and stormwater drainage. 

During this time, Warralily Boulevard will be closed between Barwon Heads Road and Silky Oak Lane. Vehicles will be detoured via Central Boulevard or Lower Duneed Road. 

Warralily Boulevard will reopen at 6am on Thursday 28 May. 

We’ll also be working overnight on Wednesday 6 May and Wednesday 27 May, to install and remove concrete barriers around the work area. While we work, Barwon Heads Road will be reduced to one lane between Lake Road and Newport Drive.
