Attend the tale of Sweeney Todd… Join us for a thrilling journey into the dark streets of Victorian London with Stephen Sondheim’s Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street. This Tony Award-winning masterpiece blends razor-sharp wit, haunting melodies, and a chilling tale of vengeance, love and meat pies.
An infamous tale, Sweeney Todd, an unjustly exiled barber, returns to nineteenth century London, seeking vengeance against the lecherous judge who framed him and ravaged his young wife. The road to revenge leads Todd to Mrs. Lovett, a resourceful proprietress of a failing pie shop, above which, he opens a new barber practice. Mrs. Lovett’s luck sharply shifts when Todd’s thirst for blood inspires the integration of an ingredient into her meat pies that has the people of London lining up… and the carnage has only just begun!
Performances will be held at the Seymour College Arts Centre from Saturday 8 – Sunday 16 November 2025.
Study Grant opportunity:
Zonta Club of Mitchell is part of Zonta International, a leading global organization of individuals working together to build a better world for women and girls. Our local club works for residents of the Mitchell Shire to make a positive impact for women and girls in our community, as well as globally.
Over previous years, our Club has awarded a scholarship to a female Year 10 student, nominated by the school, from each one of our local secondary schools.
This year, we are launching a Study Grant of $1000 for a Year 10 girl who is a resident of the Mitchell Shire, attends a local school and who identifies that such a grant would impact positively on their career aspirations.
To apply for the Study Grant, eligible students should email zontaclubmitchell@gmail.com to request an application form.
