This week sees the Year 12s continuing their VCAA examinations and the Year 11s completing their Unit 2 examinations.  Full school uniform must be worn to all examinations.

Year 11 VCE students are only to attend the College for their scheduled examinations, from Monday 10 November – Friday 14 November, arriving no later than 30 minutes prior to the beginning of each.  If any Year 11 VCE students need to be present at school at other times throughout the exam week, they need to discuss this with the Student Managers, so appropriate supervision can be arranged.  For those students wishing to come in and see teachers, ensure you pre-arrange the meeting with your teacher and sign in and wear full school uniform when you come into the school. 

Year 11 VCE (VM) students have scheduled classes on Monday 10 November, Tuesday 11 November and Thursday 13 November.  Please make sure you use this last bit of your Year 11 experience wisely and complete all your projects to the best of your ability. 

Orientation for VCE and VCE (VM) for 2026 is coming up for all current Year 11 and Year 10 students.  The purpose of this period is to set you up for success for the coming year by ensuring you have clear expectations about what is involved in each of your subjects, beginning the core learning for each and getting the holiday homework for each subject.  You must come to the first classes of 2026 having completed all set homework and having read all your English texts.  

This is the minimum requirement to set you up for a smooth beginning to your Year 11 or 12 year in 2026.  If students miss the orientation period for any reason, it is their responsibility to contact each of the teachers of your program and get all missed work from them. If students need assistance with this, they should reach out to their Student Managers.

Current Year 11s have Year 12 Orientation from Monday 17 November – Thursday 20 November, inclusive.  This period is compulsory for all current Year 11 students.  For VCE (VM) students, please note you will have to attend school on Wednesday 19 November, as there are Year 12 Orientation classes running that day, as VET will have concluded for the year. 

The current Year 10 students have Year 11 Orientation from Monday 24 November.  I will include more information about this in the next newsletter.

Whilst it is often thought that the beginning of the school year is the big point of transition for students, to ensure continued momentum in learning and being able to get a leg up for VCE, this orientation period is hugely important and one when students experience a lot of change.  To get support with these changes, students should reach out to their Student Managers and Sub School Leader.  I am excited to see what the new batch of VCE students can achieve for themselves with the support of their families and the College.
