Easter Hat Parade Gift Bags for Defence Students

Last week of term, all Defence primary students will be coming home with a gift bag to assist in preparing for the Easter Hat Parade on Tuesday first day back term 2. This is made possible thanks to the generous donations from the Fountain family and the Reject Shop.

We hope this will keep the kids busy over the Easter holidays and make for a wonderful contribution to the Easter Hat Parade for our primary students.

Term 2 Program Update for Defence Families

With Term 2 approaching, we’re excited to introduce some new activities for our Defence families. In Term 1, we kept things cool with icy poles and slushies for the warmer weather. For Term 2, we’ll be serving cakes and slices on Thursdays, while Tuesdays will continue to be Craft Activity and Games Day.

If your child has any allergies, please inform me as soon as possible so we can ensure food options are suitable for them.

Join a Sports Club in Seymour and surrounding

To any families looking at joining a sports club around Seymour, please feel free to reach out and I can guide you in the right direction, whether it be football, netball, soccer, basketball, karate, swimming, or other activities. Let me know what your children might enjoy, and I’ll be happy to connect you with the right contacts for that sport.

Reminder for Defence Families - ANZAC Day Ceremony

Just a reminder for all Defence Families to RSVP for our school ANZAC Day ceremony, which will be held on 24th April at 9am. The ceremony will run for no longer than one hour, and it will take place during the first week back, Term 2.

We will be providing morning tea for all Defence Families and their children. The Catafalque party will also be in attendance, along with some staff and school leaders.

This is a wonderful opportunity to catch up, meet other Defence Families who attend Seymour College, and, if you haven’t already, introduce yourself to our Defence Mentor and other staff members.

Whether your child is experiencing relationship or friendship issues at school, or if there are any wellbeing concerns, I am more than happy to liaise with your child’s coordinators and ensure they receive the best assistance possible.

The Australian Kookaburra Kids Foundation deliver the Defence Kids Program across Australia for young people aged 9-18 years. They provide camps, activity days and age-appropriate

education. All Activity Days and Camps are free to current registered Kookaburra Kids.
