Purple Room News

In Purple Room we have been exploring the Great Barrier Reef for Inquiry. We have researched and found information on the largest fish; the Whale Shark and the smallest fish; Stout Fish. We have been busy making fish, octopus, turtles and coral. We are in the process of making a Diorama of the Great Barrier Reef and will be showing it at assembly.

VPC News

VPC A have started walking into town every Thursday as part of our Work Related Skills unit. During these walks we explore local businesses and community organisations. Last week on Thursday we had our first walking excursion and we were so excited about this. Even though the weather wasn’t the best, it didn’t dampen our experience. We decided that because the weather wasn’t the best that we would walk to the local “Op shop” that is on Anzac Avenue. We walked to Go Again Op Shop and learnt about what Op Shops are and their purpose in our local community. We were excited to have a look inside and to ask the volunteers questions about their role and about the fundraising avenues the charity supports. The students discussed how the Op Shop gets it’s donations and where their profits go. We found out that Go Again Op Shop supports Goulburn Options, which is a local organisation that supports people living with a disability.
