Senior School

As we come to the end of Term 3, it has been another busy and rewarding term across the Senior School. Students have continued to work towards their academic goals, participate in College life and demonstrate our College values of Respect, Resilience and Responsibility.

With only one term remaining in the 2026 school year, students are encouraged to reflect on the progress they have made so far and consider how they can finish the year strongly. Term 4 will bring several important milestones, particularly for our Year 12 students, while our Year 10 and 11 students will continue preparing for the next stage of their learning and pathways.

Attendance and Engagement

Attendance, punctuality and engagement have continued to be a key focus throughout Term 3. It has been fantastic to see many students’ maintaining consistent attendance and making a positive commitment to their learning.

Our E.P.I.C. Award continues to recognise students who have demonstrated excellent attendance by being present and engaged in every class, every period. Each week, we have celebrated these students through the Student Bulletin, with winners also having the opportunity to spin the E.P.I.C. prize wheel. Congratulations to all students who have achieved E.P.I.C. recognition throughout the term. This is a fantastic achievement and reflects the importance of consistency, commitment and responsibility.

Our Merit system has also continued to recognise students who demonstrate our College values. It has been wonderful to see students working towards accumulating green Merits and making the most of the Merit Shop, which provides students with an opportunity to redeem their points for a range of rewards. As we approach the end of the school year, students are reminded that Merit points cannot be carried over into 2027. Students should make sure they visit the Merit Shop during Term 4 and use their points before the end of the year.

Year 12 - Finishing Strong

For our Year 12 students, the end of Term 3 marks a significant milestone as they move towards the final stage of their secondary schooling.

With VCE coursework and SACs now complete, the focus will increasingly shift towards examination preparation and finalising post school pathway opportunities for all our students. Our Unit 3 and 4 Practice Examinations will take place from Wednesday 7 October to Wednesday 14 October, providing students with an important opportunity to experience examination conditions, consolidate their learning and identify areas for further revision.

Students are encouraged to use the upcoming school holidays purposefully. While it is important to take time to rest and recharge, establishing a study plan and revisiting key content will help students return to Term 4 feeling prepared and confident.

Students should continue to seek support from their teachers, make use of feedback from assessment tasks and identify areas where they require further clarification. The Senior School team and teaching staff will continue to support students throughout this final stage of their VCE journey.

Most importantly, we encourage our Year 12 students to recognise the progress they have made. The final year of secondary school is a significant achievement, and we look forward to celebrating their successes with them throughout Term 4.

Year 10 and 11 - Preparing for 2027

Term 3 has also been an important period for our Year 10 and 11 students as they prepare for the next stage of their education.

Students have now completed their 2027 course selections, following subject selection, pathway discussions and course counselling throughout the term. These conversations are an important part of helping students make informed decisions that align with their interests, strengths, aspirations and future pathways.

We encourage students to continue engaging positively with their current subjects and learning. The skills, knowledge and learning habits developed throughout Years 10 and 11 provide an important foundation for future success.

For our Year 11 students, the Year 11 Formal was held on Friday 4 September and was a fantastic night of celebration, laughter and fun. It was wonderful to see students dressed up, enjoying the evening with their peers and creating memories together as they approach the final year of their secondary schooling.

We encourage families to take a moment to read the student reflection attached to this newsletter update, which captures the atmosphere, excitement and fun of the night from the students’ perspective.

2027 College Captaincy Process

A significant highlight of Term 3 has been the College Captaincy process for 2027. We have been incredibly proud of the students who put themselves forward for these important leadership positions and demonstrated their willingness to contribute to the College community.

The selection process has provided students with an opportunity to develop their confidence, communication and leadership skills while considering how they can positively influence our College community.

We look forward to announcing our 2027 College Captains and recognising the students who will take on these important leadership responsibilities next year early into Term 4, so watch this space!

Looking ahead to Term 4

As we prepare for the final term of the school year, there is plenty happening across the Senior School.

Term 4 will be a particularly significant period for our Year 12 students, with practice examinations, VCAA examinations, final celebrations and the conclusion of their secondary schooling. For our younger Senior School students, Term 4 will provide an opportunity to consolidate their learning and prepare confidently for the year ahead.

We encourage all students to return from the holidays ready to make the most of the final term. Maintaining strong attendance, arriving to class on time, staying organised and demonstrating our College values will help students finish the year positively.

There will also be many opportunities throughout Term 4 to celebrate student achievements, recognise contributions to the College and come together as a Senior School community.

As always, families are encouraged to regularly check Compass, Year Level communications and College correspondence for important information, upcoming dates and opportunities.

Thank you to our students, families and staff for your continued support throughout Term 3. We wish everyone a safe and enjoyable break and look forward to seeing our students return refreshed and ready for a successful final term of 2026.

Year 11 Formal

On 4 September, the Year 11’s had their annual Year 11 Formal. The night was filled with lots of laughter, dancing, bonding and sheer fun. Students arriving in luxury from their transport to their clothing!

The music was pumping from the beginning, with everyone jumping and dancing, staff having a blast dancing to the Nutbush and providing each other with unforgettable memories. On top of that, Mr Rapson and a photobooth only captured a fraction of the pure enjoyment of the night, giving us memorabilia to look back on.

A big thank you to the coordinators Mr Shane and Mr Mersin, as well as staff that helped, for organising such an unforgettable and incredible night. I’m sure it will be cherished by both staff and students for many years to come.
