Principal's Report

As we reach the end of another busy term, I'm pleased to share some positive insights into the status of the school.
Staffing and Enrolments 2027
The Senior Sub-School team have done a fabulous job finalising course counselling, and we are well on the way to completing the 2027 timetable. We have advertised for a number of teaching positions and have begun an extensive round of interviews, with the aim of securing the best possible applicants for next year. It has been pleasing to see strong interest in these roles, with several positions attracting more than 50 applicants, many of them early-career teachers.
This strong interest in our staffing coincides with pleasing enrolment growth for next year. We are delighted to report that enrolments for 2027 are tracking higher than we anticipated, and it is wonderful to hear that we are becoming a ‘school of choice’ for many families in our community. This is a reflection of the hard work of our staff, as well as our students, who represent our college so proudly within the wider community. We have so many wonderful young people, and we thank them for upholding our school values and helping make this college such a desirable choice for future students.
ACE Program Testing
On Saturday we completed testing for students interested in joining the ACE (Advanced Challenge and Enrichment) program for 2027. We had a strong turnout, and this level of interest reflects our ongoing commitment to providing a supportive, engaging and high-quality learning environment where every student can thrive.
Growing Our VET Pathways
Alongside this growth in ACE participation, we are also seeing increasing numbers of students choosing VET (Vocational Education and Training) pathways. As part of the 2027 timetable, we will offer nine in-house VET courses, reflecting our students' growing interest in a broader range of pathways beyond the traditional VCE. VET offers a fantastic opportunity for students completing VCE or VCE Vocational Major to engage in applied learning and gain additional qualifications that support their future study and career goals.
Parent Opinion Survey
Our Parent Opinion Survey will close shortly, and we thank all families who have taken the time to contribute. We take this feedback very seriously, as it helps us reflect on the needs of our community and identify areas where we can continue to improve.
Looking Ahead to Term 4
Term 4 is shaping up to be a big term for our school community, including:
- School Review Planning. We will begin preparing for our next school review this term. All schools undertake a review every four years, with the outcome informing the school's next four-year School Strategic Plan (SSP). Our current plan concludes at the end of 2026, so this marks the start of our next planning cycle. The first stage, taking place in term 4, is the Pre-Review Self-Evaluation, where we examine our data and other evidence to form a shared view of current practice and areas for improvement.
- Outreach Inclusion Coach. We have engaged an Outreach Inclusion Coach to support our staff in differentiating effectively for the diverse needs of students in every classroom. Differentiating for a class of 25 students is no small task, and we recognise this as an area where we can continue to grow.
We wish the whole school community a happy and safe school break and we look forward to seeing all our students return on Monday 5 October.
