We have been learning about S and A. We made snakes. Snakes start with S. Apple starts with A. In numeracy, we did zeros and twos and fours and threes. We did counting. We did subitize with a pirate.

The class have been exploring community health messages around being sunsmart. They decided they could help our school community by reminding everyone about applying sunscreen. Partners worked on making messages for different audiences. You would have already heard a message from Scarlett, Rhu, Annie and Austin at assembly. Look out for some posters and a Compass message too!
Here's the newsletter message Maggie and Hunter prepared for you:

You have to be Sunsmart!
SLIP on covering clothes
SLOP on sunscreen. It has to be 50+
SLAP on a hat with a broad brim
SEEK some shade
SLIDE on some sunnies

We need to work on SLOP. Everyone needs to put on sunscreen in the morning and at lunch eating ready for lunch play.
Check the Sunsmart Global UV app to find out what the UV is.
You have to be SunSmart if the UV is 3 or over!
Here's George and Gracie's newsletter message:

We had some great meet-ups for parent teacher interviews this week.
It was lovely to meet up with so many parents, and to start to get to know the families behind the kids that I see in class every day.
This week I also made the fatal error of putting together a 'Comments, Questions and Ideas' book. The idea of the book was simple: if kids had comments, questions or ideas about ...well...just about anything.. they could write these in the book. Unfortunately, the book seems to have become a medium for the kids to advocate for some kind game called 'blooket'. They claim it is a maths game, so some time this weekend I will sit down and actually figure out what this mysterious 'blooket' game is, and whether I am brave enough to play it with them....
Our buddy sessions have been happening every Friday and is the highlight of the week for some of our students. Everyone has been so kind to each other and the older students have been such great role models. Last week, we worked on fine motor skills and coloured and made paper planes together.
