Lest We Forget
Recently, students from the SLC visited the Melbourne Museum, where they had the special opportunity to locate a photograph of my great-grandfather, Private Samuel Alexander Peacock Lovett—a proud Gunditjmara man who served during World War II.
As part of their current units of work, students explored his story alongside those of other Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander veterans, deepening their understanding of service, sacrifice, and history. This learning connected meaningfully with our annual commemoration of Anzac Day.
In 2026, we paid a special tribute to the Lovett brothers, whose extraordinary service and enduring legacy continue to highlight the strength, resilience, and significant contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander servicemen and women.
Families are encouraged to learn more about the Lovett brothers’ story via the First Peoples State Relations website:

Today's Learners : Tomorrow's Leaders
Please remember that our student leaders on Heights Campus and Springvale Campus are always there to lend a helping hand or to help advocate for your child in the yard. Make sure they know who these superstars by name.
Keep smiling,
