What a great way to finish the season off last Friday, with a hard fought 3-2 win over Kings Pirates!

The team continued to develop their skills and defensive awareness as the season progressed, and you could see the confidence levels rising as each game was played.

The competition this season was very strong, and our Win/Loss ratio probably didn’t paint an accurate picture as to how many games we were in. However, we did hold the record for the highest number of games that were decided by 2 goals or less which was 8 out of our 13 games. Thanks for a great season, Bandicoots!

The team played well and won their final game which was a nice way to finish the season. Thanks to Chris and Rachel Spry for supporting their son Tom (Archer’s brother), who coached the team this season! The team improved greatly and had a blast.

GS Warriors - Basketball

20/11/2025

This week the GS Warriors were up against Pedare Lightning for our last game of the season before finals.  The Warriors were able to record a 60-3 win to end the regular season undefeated which is a remarkable achievement.  The game was shifted on the day from a 5.50 game to 4.30, as a result Pedare were missing a couple of their regular players which didn’t help them against a very determined Warriors team.

From the start the Warriors had control of the game and never let go, the teamwork that we have become accustomed to was on show again by the Warriors and this was demonstrated by all players getting on the scoreboard.  The growth and development of all the Warriors this season has been exceptional and regardless of what happens in the finals they should all be very proud of the season they have had and their achievements.  I am very proud to have bad the privilege of being their coach.

A-Grade Cricket Season Update.

Our season has continued with three more fun games. The team are resilient, have a great team connection, and play in the spirit of the game.

Vs Heritage Collage

GS lost 3/62 to 6/92. A solid batting and bowling performance. We defended our wickets well when batting. One of their batters scored 31* runs and taught us how even good balls can be scored from. Our bowlers showed great enthusiasm and resilience.

Vs St Joseph’s Memorial School

GS won 2/99 to 3/84. One of our best running between the wickets batting performances. Learning from last week, we made the most of our scoring opportunities. Again, a resilient bowling performance focusing on bowling good lines paid off.

Vs Norwood Primary

Chasing 5/119, GS were1/22 after 13.3 overs when rain stopped play. Norwood are one of the best overall teams we’ve played in the last few seasons. Our fielding was amazing with great catches, run outs, almost run outs, and great teamwork. Bowlers did well to bowl to our plan but credit to their good batters finding ways to hit boundaries. During our batting innings the rain began to fall, again our players defended their wickets well. They persisted despite damp conditions, and good bowling and fielding making scoring runs hard.
