Connecting Numbers to Quantity with Playdough and Dice

The Green Team engaged in early counting and number recognition. After rolling the dice, the children identified the number...

“That’s five dots!” Saige said, 

“I need two more!” explained Blair, 

“My turn” shared Amelia. 

They counted out the correct number of counters and pressed them into their playdough, checking their work by counting again. This activity encouraged one-to-one correspondence and numeral recognition through play.

Term 4 Event Calendar

We encourage families to take a moment to review the event calendar to stay up to date and help children prepare for the exciting weeks ahead.

Notices:

We are looking forward to our End of Year Celebration on Tuesday December 2nd in the Church at 5:30pm. Please ensure your child arrives at 5:20pm and joins their Team, and families can find their seat in the church. 

We ask that they wear Christmassy colours red, green, white, gold or silver (not dress-ups/costumes). 

If your child is booked into the Afternoon Program and can’t be picked up from Curiosity by 5:10pm, please let Jasmyn or Karen know and send in their coloured top/clothes and we can help them change and take them to the church and meet you there, for you to sign them out, and for you to enjoy the concert.

The calendar for December is now live on Storypark. You can see it in the ‘Plans’ list across the top options bar, in the app. Or in the desktop version under the ‘Planning’ tab. We will continue using this feature in 2026 for continuing families. A paper copy of the event information, dates and times for the next 3 weeks is in your child’s pocket, if you weren’t given one already.
