Dance Incursion and Concert

On Wednesday, 22nd July, Stomp Dance Co will be visiting Kalinda. They will be working with all students from P-6 to learn a dance appropriate for their grade level.

Please make sure that your child/ren wears appropriate school uniform for participating in a dance class on this day.

On Friday, 31st July, we will be holding a Dance Showcase. This will be an opportunity for every student in the school to showcase the dances they have been learning. All grades will perform, as will the Highland Dance groups and the choir.

The showcase will start at 2:05 pm in the stadium. Families are warmly invited to attend.

There is no cost to families for either the incursion or the concert.

Music Incursion

On Wednesday, 9th September, performers from Water Rhythms by Musica Viva will come to Kalinda to perform for all students. This performance brings together a unique and engaging mix of music, movement and storytelling. In preparation for the show, students will participate in a range of activities during Performing Arts classes to prepare to best engage with the performance.

Students will be enchanted by the rhythm and flow of water in this dynamic performance as these talented performers bring together music, movement and visual storytelling.

Through an engaging blend of percussion, soundscapes, and contemporary dance, students explore how rhythm and movement can reflect the natural world. As the performers respond to each other in real time, students learn to listen deeply, interpret sound through movement, and express themselves through their own bodies. This highly immersive show encourages students to connect rhythm and motion, sparking new ways of thinking about music, dance and self-expression.

In the lead-up to the incursion, students will engage with education resources and workshops in Performing Arts classes to help them prepare for the performance. These will include hands-on activities, interactive content, instructional videos and independent tasks.

We are very lucky to be able to offer this incursion and learning activities at no cost to families.
