What a Term! Goondiwindi State School Shines

What a busy and wonderful Term 3 it has been! We are incredibly proud of our students and the many ways Goondiwindi State School has shone throughout the term.

Our students represented our school brilliantly at the Eisteddfod, with fabulous performances from our choir, poetry readers, band, orchestra and instrumental groups. On the sporting field, students gave their best at Zone Track and Field, Multi- class Track and Field and the Rugby Sevens. Prep to Two students are keenly waiting for the  Junior Athletics carnival, on Friday next week.

Students also rose to the challenge of the Premier’s Reading Challenge and celebrated Book Week in style! Students came dressed as their favourite book characters, with our Book Week character parade once again a highlight. Staff enjoyed recreating the Adventures of Alice in Wonderland!  It was wonderful to see the creativity, excitement and love of reading across the school.

We were also very proud to welcome some special visitors to our school this term. Director-General of Education Sharon Schimming toured our school and commented on the beautiful environment we have created for our students to learn and play. We also welcomed the Hon. John-Paul Langbroek MP, Minister for Education and the Arts. Our students did a fantastic job welcoming our visitors, showcasing our school and sharing what makes Gundy State such a GREAT place to learn.

There was plenty of fun along the way too! Students enjoyed our P&C Disco, House events, excursions, camps and other special activities throughout the term.

It has also been a pleasure welcoming and getting to know many of our 2027 Prep students and families as they begin their transition to big school. We can't wait to  welcome them to our Gumnuts Transition Day next term.

Term 3 has certainly been action-packed, and we couldn't be prouder of the way our students have participated, performed, competed, learned and represented our school.

Have a safe, happy and well-earned holiday. We look forward to seeing everyone back for a fantastic Term 4!
