From the Visual Arts room.
Foundation
Students have been using 'See, Think, Feel, Wonder' when exploring artwork.
Students looked at the portrait of 'Mona Lisa' and discussed what they could see, what they thought when looking at the artwork, how the artwork makes them feel and any wonderings they have about the image.
Grades 1 and 2
Students read the story 'Snow Wombat' and looked at the snowflakes used on each page.
Using pipe cleaners and beads, students worked on threading skills to create their own snowflake.
Grades 3 and 4
Students have been exploring textiles by practising knots.
Students made a sample piece of a simple knots using a wool of their choice.
The students moved on to basic macrame knots learning the importance of following a sequence of instructions to create their piece.
Grades 5 and 6
Soft pastels were used to create these landscapes. Techniques of blending, stippling and cross hatching needed to be incorporated into the artwork.
These are on display in the corridor near the office.
Students have been exploring the famous Australian artist - Sidney Nolan and the series of Ned Kelly inspired artwork he created.
