Koorie Connections
Celebrating Student Artwork and Community Connection
We are proud to share that our student artwork, currently displayed in the front office, was highly commended at the 2024 Orbost Woodwork Exhibition held at the Orbost Art Gallery.
The piece, created from swamp paperbark growing from Country, was developed during NAIDOC and Reconciliation Week in collaboration with local artist Catherine van Wilgenburg.
The artwork represents connection to land, community, and culture and beautifully showcases the students’ creativity and respect for Country.
The award was announced at the exhibition, with Catherine van Wilgenburg and Aunty Lynne Solomon-Dent in attendance to celebrate this wonderful achievement.
A huge congratulations to our talented students for their effort, teamwork and artistic vision, and thank you to Catherine for guiding and inspiring them through this meaningful project.
