This term the Gliders having been showing incredible leadership and talent. First  came our athletics carnival. where we won 150 house points!

Next was the House talent show where four brave students tried to represent our house by performing a skill they have been practicing. Thank you to all the participants and to all the Gliders that came to watch and support our performers .

The finalist will be doing their performance to show their amazing talent at the assembly in week 11 to represent the gliders in front of the whole school.

Tawny House

by Saskia Flaherty & Alexis Challenger

Throughout Term 2, Preston High School students have had access to and encouragement to participate in a wide range of opportunities to display our talent and leadership.

Tawny Frogmouths, were very fortunate to have many great participants in the Athletics Carnival earlier this term. Together we collected an amazing 200 points and a win for this year’s event.

More recently, multiple brave Tawnies auditioned for the upcoming House Talent Show at our whole school assembly, with a successful act selected to represent us, which we just can’t wait to see.

Currently it is Arts Week. The Arts leaders and some House leaders have helped plan some fun and creative activities, along with an Art competition. We would love to see some more wonderful Tawny talent, this is a reminder it's not to late to submit a piece, winner will be announced very soon. Hoping the next term will bring many new and exciting opportunities for us to grow our house spirit and awesomeness yet again!

Gecko House

by Leah Betson & Ava Singleton

This term the Geckos are achieving stellar results left, right and centre. Starting off strong with the athletics carnival, we had one of our highest rates of participation in our first year with a full school. Many proud house members continued on to the Division athletics, with a couple bringing home golds for Preston. These Geckos will now progress to Regionals in September.

In other aspects, we held our annual House Talent Show, with the Gecko finalist, Amelia from Cohort 2029, proceeding to our full school show in the end of term. We also had Geckos participate in Chess competitions, debating and many other interschool and opt-in events.

In Arts week, the House captains worked alongside our Arts Leaders to put on many lunchtime activities and an Art comp, with the winner set to be announced soon.

That’s all from the red house team, have a great break and we can’t wait to see you all back next term for more house points!

Acacia House

by Sylvia Hoye & Saskia White

Acacia has had a great Term 2. We started off with great success at the athletics carnival, winning the house cup and having many of our athletes progress to further competitions. We are so proud of all our athletes and the many Acacia house members that participated and had fun.

We also held our annual House Talent Show, featuring some very talented acts. We're excited to see our top acts perform at the whole school assembly.

Thanks to the wide range of interests and talent in the Acacia house we have had many people participate in other clubs and activities such as debating, chess, the musical, and more.  We're so excited to see Acacia have another amazing term!
