Parent Support

All your study questions answered
Families play an important role in helping our teens succeed at school. Whether it's encouraging Year 8s to switch gaming for study, helping Year 10s balance schoolwork with a social life and a part-time job or helping Year 12s revise before a big exam, there's plenty parents can do. Some families may have questions about how to best support their teen. Other times, parents want to help but don't know where to start .
Preston families can get all their study support questions answered in an online session this Wednesday (19 June) with study experts from Elevate Education. Preston High School works with Elevate Education to help our students with study skills, motivation, wellbeing, and exam preparation. This webinar, which runs from 6.30pm to 7.30pm, will answer your questions and give advice about how to support your teen at home .
Parents are invited to ask any question they like. Questions can be submitted in advance or during the session. Previous sessions have included questions about helping teens set study goals, how to support them with meeting deadlines and how to communicate with them about workloads.
The hour-long webinar is free for Preston families. You can register via the button below.
Take our 2024 family engagement survey
One of our three values at Preston High School is community.
With this in mind, engagement with families (including Compass, the Student Led Conference model, interactions with teachers, and so on.) puts student growth at the centre of conversations with our community.
Last year, we ran our first annual family engagement survey. Around 20 per cent of the community used their voice to provide feedback and support to our team. The input we received was invaluable in helping us further deepen and strengthen the relationships between our families and the school.
As a school committed to our own growth and improvement, we are interested in seeking your feedback again on the way we conduct our family engagement. Please help us reach our goal of hearing from at least 30 per cent of our school community!

The survey is expected to take about 15-20 mins, and is easiest to complete on a computer.
We appreciate your time in helping us support student growth.
