Acting Principal's Report
Derek Rimes
Dear Parents and Carers,
Firstly, I would like to inform you of our next scheduled VGSA Professional Practice Day. It is on Monday 21st July and it will be a pupil free day. Teachers are released from their scheduled duties to focus on improving teaching and learning.
After being invited to complete a grant request, we were successful in receiving $5,000.00 from Bendigo Bank – Community Bank Wallan, Kilmore and Broadford, to assist with the costs of delivering the College Café. Morning tea, a snack and lunch are provided to all our Primary students, every day, at no charge to their families.
Thank you Bendigo Bank for your generous donation and for supporting this initiative as data suggests that it makes a difference in terms of student behaviours and academic performance.
The Big Freeze is a great cause and a great initiative, thanks to Lisa Macheras and Leanne Hayek for all the organisation with the VM students. Not an easy task. A big thanks to the unusual characters below who bore the cold slippery slopes, detergent and ice to raise money and show our students what really matters in life!
School reports will be available on the last day of term and will support the continuous reporting model introduced at Seymour College this year in line with DET policy changes in this area.
The end of term 2 has is on our doorstep, and it has been a very busy and productive term across Seymour College with quality teaching and learning interspersed with opportunities for students to participate in a varied range of events and activities. I would like to take this opportunity to wish all our students along with their families a well-earned holiday break away from school.
Reminder, the first day of term 3 for students is Tuesday 22nd July.
Kind regards,
Derek Rimes,
Acting Principal.
