As we conclude another busy and successful term, we reflect on the many achievements, events and opportunities that have brought our school community together throughout Term 3. From student leadership initiatives to house competitions and classroom successes, the term has been filled with memorable experiences that have showcased the talent, dedication and spirit of our students.

House Cup

With another term comes another iteration of the annual House Cup. Events from Gauntlet to Pictionary and Jeopardy ran across the school on the 17th of September and It was wonderful to see students from across all year levels embracing the opportunity to represent their houses and contribute to the strong sense of community that exists at Highvale.

Throughout the competition, students demonstrated enthusiasm, teamwork, determination and sportsmanship. Whether competing in events, supporting their peers from the sidelines, or assisting with the organisation of activities, students embraced the spirit of friendly competition and proudly represented Bunjil, Murrum, Burrimul and Kaan.

A special thank you goes to both our 2026 and newly appointed 2027 student leaders for their contributions to planning and running the House Cup. Their collaboration, organisation and leadership played a significant role in creating a positive and engaging experience for students across the college. It was particularly pleasing to see outgoing leaders working alongside the next group of student leaders to ensure the success of the event.

Following a closely contested competition, we congratulate Bunjil on being crowned the 2026 House Cup Champions and bringing our house competition to a close. All houses competed with tremendous spirit throughout the year, making this one of the most competitive and engaging House Cup competitions in recent years.

Looking Ahead

As we look towards Term 4, there are many exciting opportunities for students to become involved in the life of the college.

The student leadership process will continue, with nominations opening for a range of additional leadership positions. Students will have the opportunity to apply for a variety of roles in both Junior and Senior school. These positions provide students with opportunities to strengthen student voice, support their peers, foster community involvement, and contribute to initiatives that enrich school life. We encourage all interested students to consider applying and taking an active role in shaping our college community.

Term 4 will also see the return of the highly anticipated Highvale Carnival, one of the most exciting events on the school calendar. The carnival provides a wonderful opportunity for students, staff and families to come together and celebrate the many talents, achievements and cultures that make our community unique. We look forward to sharing more information about the event in the coming weeks and seeing the enthusiasm and participation that make the carnival such a memorable occasion each year.

With leadership opportunities, the Highvale Carnival, end-of-year celebrations and many other events still ahead, Term 4 promises to be a busy and exciting conclusion to the year. We thank our students, staff and families for their continued support throughout Term 3 and look forward to finishing 2026 strongly as a connected and thriving school community.
